Leading a busy design studio.
Over the years, I have worked on a wide range of projects for Plymouth Argyle FC, including internal and external wayfinding signage, merchandise, promotional design, and print. However, the project I looked forward to most each year was designing the club's official annual calendar.
Working closely with the in-house marketing and legal teams of one of Plymouth's longest-established solicitors, a firm with over 200 years of history, I produced a wide range of promotional and legal documentation. I also managed the print production process, ensuring every piece adhered to the firm's clear, straightforward brand guidelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Tamar Industries required a cohesive brand identity to unify its specialist divisions: Catering, Gaming, Refrigeration, and CCTV & Audio Visual. Serving pubs, restaurants, and entertainment venues throughout the region, the company needed a fresh, modern identity that reflected its professionalism and supported its continued growth.
Parking signage may not be the most glamorous area of design, but accuracy and consistency are essential. Covering the City of Plymouth, every sign must comply with strict regulations and standards, while keeping pace with continually evolving legislation, road layouts, and parking requirements.
Devon Hampers celebrates the finest produce the region has to offer and is recognised for its award-winning quality and national press coverage.
My role was to create a consistent visual identity across brochures, catalogues, advertising, and print. To reflect the brand’s heritage and connection to Devon, I developed bespoke vintage-inspired illustrations using clean vector artwork, a balanced colour palette, and simplified forms.
Situated on the outskirts of Plymouth, Elfordleigh Hotel is a prestigious country house hotel offering luxury accommodation, an 18-hole golf course, a spa, and an exceptional setting for weddings and events.
My role was to help position the hotel as a premium destination through a refined and consistent brand identity. Alongside developing the logo, I designed and managed the production of a wide range of marketing materials, ensuring every piece reflected the hotel's high-quality offering and elegant country club experience.
Harlan Sands is a well-established independent holiday park that required a brand refresh to strengthen its position against larger franchise operators across the South West. I developed a fresh, contemporary visual identity using a clean illustrative style, a carefully considered colour palette, and a restrained typographic approach. The result was a cohesive brand that reflected the park's welcoming, family-friendly ethos while enhancing its appeal across both print and digital marketing materials.
Relocated from Surrey to Plymouth during the 1960s, Fine Tubes has built an international reputation for manufacturing precision-engineered tubing for industries ranging from high-performance motorsport and aerospace to scientific research, including supplying cooling tubes for the Large Hadron Collider.
Within such a highly specialised manufacturing environment, health and safety are paramount. My role involved designing clear, compliant signage that communicated essential safety information and ensured operational procedures were followed consistently. In addition to safety signage, I developed visual communication systems that supported daily production, helping teams monitor workflow, track progress, and improve efficiency across the factory.
