Wayfinding is essential in any public building, but nowhere is it more critical than in a hospital, where clear navigation benefits both patients and staff. Every sign must adhere to strict guidelines covering viewing distances, typography, symbols, colour, and sizing to ensure information is legible, accessible, and consistent throughout the site.
One of the key projects I worked on was redesigning the hospital's site map. To improve navigation across Derriford Hospital's extensive campus, I created a clear, three-dimensional illustrated map that used colour coding, recognisable landmarks, and simple iconography to help visitors quickly identify key departments and find their way with confidence.
A selection of design work produced for Age UK, including the development of an exhibition stand created to promote their Funeral Plan campaign. The stand was designed to communicate the service with clarity, sensitivity, and professionalism while maintaining strong brand consistency.
